Abstract

• In June 2020 East Java experienced inflation of 0.28 percent. Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, seven cities experienced inflation and one city experienced deflation. The highest inflation in Malang was 0.44 percent. While deflation occurred in Sumenep by 0.15 percent.
• Inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by an increase in most of the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.21 percent, the clothing and footwear group by 0.19 percent, the health group by 0.10 percent, the transportation group by 1.77 percent, the information, communication and financial services group by 0.04 percent, the education group by 0.02 percent, and the provision of food and beverages / restaurants by 0.20 percent. The deflation group was the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.03 percent and the personal care and other services group by 0.59 percent. Whereas the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group and the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group did not change.
• The inflation rate for the June 2020 calendar year is 1.14 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2020 against June 2019) is 2.04 percent.
