Abstract

  • The percentage of poor people in September 2024 was 9.56 percent, down 0.23 percentage points compared to March 2024.
  • The number of poor people in September 2024 was 3.893 million people, down 0.089 million people compared to March 2024.
  • The percentage of urban poor people in March 2024 was 7.12 percent, down to 6.83 percent in September 2024. Meanwhile, the percentage of rural poor people in March 2024 was 13.30 percent, down to 13.19 percent in September 2024.
  • Compared to March 2024, the number of urban poor people in September 2024 fell by 54 thousand people (from 1.643 million people in March 2024 to 1.589 million people in September 2024). Meanwhile, in the same period, the number of rural poor people also decreased by 35 thousand people (from 2.340 million people in March 2024 to 2.305 million people in September 2024).
  • The Poverty Line in September 2024 was recorded at IDR 547,751/capita/month with the composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 416,738 (76.08 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 131,013 (23.92 percent).
  • In September 2024, on average, poor households in East Java had 4.27 household members. Thus, the average Poverty Line per poor household was IDR 2,338,897/poor household/month.
