Abstract

• The economy of East Java in 2024, as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 3,168.29 trillion, with a GRDP per capita of IDR 75.77 million.
• The East Java economy in 2024 grew by 4.93 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, the highest growth was recorded in the Transportation and Warehousing sector, which grew by 9.50 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was in the Household Non-Profit Institution Consumption Expenditure (PK-LNPRT) component, which increased by 12.49 percent.
• The East Java economy in Q4-2024 compared to Q4-2023 grew by 5.03 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, the highest growth was recorded in the Public Administration, Defense, and Mandatory Social Security sector, which grew by 11.39 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was in the Household Non-Profit Institution Consumption Expenditure (PK-LNPRT) component, which grew by 9.53 percent.
• The East Java economy in Q4-2024 compared to Q3-2024 contracted by 0.77 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the highest growth was recorded in the Other Services sector, which grew by 6.63 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was in the Government Consumption Expenditure (P-KP) component, which increased by 8.16 percent.
• Structurally, the Manufacturing Industry sector dominated East Java’s economic structure in Q4-2024, contributing 31.29 percent, while from the expenditure side, the economy was dominated by the Household Consumption Expenditure (PK-RT) component, which contributed 60.96 percent.
